Rob is from the scenic and historic town of Twillingate. He graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. He has eighteen years of excelling in the financial services industry.
Rob is the longest tenured advisor and former managing partner with East Coast Mortgage Brokers and has been the firm’s top producer consecutively from 2012 to present. In 2014 and 2018 he was recognized nationally in the Canadian Mortgage Professional magazine’s “Young Guns” issue. He ranked in the CMP Magazine Top 20 (small market) in Canada list for six of the past seven years that it has been awarded. He has reached the Verico Chairman’s Club from 2016 to 2023 (highest level of achievement within the national network). Rob has been named a finalist for Canadian Mortgage Awards Top Atlantic Regional Broker Finalist for the past four years as well. In 2018, 2019 and 2024 Rob was named a finalist for the Alternative Mortgage Broker of the Year at the Canadian Mortgage Awards. Furthermore, he was listed as a “Top Alternative Broker” with the Canadian Mortgage Professional Magazine in 2018.
During his ownership tenure, East Coast Mortgage Brokers was recognized as a “Top Brokerage” in Canada from Canadian Mortgage Professional Magazine in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Also in 2019, 2020, and 2021, ECMB was named finalist for the “Top Brokerage – Atlantic Canada” at the Mortgage Awards of Excellence, and in 2021 and 2022 ECMB was selected the award winner. ECMB was also selected as a “Consumer Choice Award” Winner for St. John’s in 2019. In 2020 and 2021 ECMB was a finalist for the Top Mortgage Brokerage in Canada (under 25 employees) at the Canadian Mortgage Awards, and in 2022 ECMB was awarded the Top Brokerage award.
Rob is highly regarded in the mortgage industry and is active in his community. For this ECMB was awarded the “Community Impact” award from the St. John’s Board of trade in 2016. Rob is a director of the Remembering Robbie 5km Walk for Mental Health while also sitting on the Salvation Army NL Business Advisory Board. He has his Accredited Mortgage Professional Designation and represents Atlantic Canada on the Mortgage Professionals Canada Board of Directors. He has also volunteered with a number of charities and fundraisers, including the Ronald McDonald House, Make A Wish Foundation, Easter Seals, among others.
